Overall

I own/have owned several models of VFFs (KSO Treks, Performa Janes, KSOs), and these are hands down the most comfortable pair of the lot. I replaced the KSO Treks with these for trail running. **The cons: stuff gets in them a lot more easily because they don't fit as tightly around the ankle; don't breathe as well, so my feet sometimes get hot; they get a lot stinkier than the leather models (I'm sure partly because my feet sweat more); be sure to wash them before you run in them the first time (I got bad blisters on my left heel). **The pros: everything else. Incredibly soft and comfortable but still keeping the barefoot feel. I wear a women's 41, but the Treks were the only "closed" model I could wear because I appear to have too high an instep for the others. Men's 40 in regular KSOs fit but are just the slightest bit too snug. This is a model that I can get in my true size because of the laces. They're still a tad tighter than the KSO treks but not much. I use them to run on dirt/gravel trails in a park and they provide enough protection and padding for that.
